The term "network stack" is used extensively in the computer world; many people know about the OSI model and the different layers that make up the model. However, few understand how a packet is actually passed from one layer to the next. The network service is the Minix server that is this network stack. This site gets into the nuts and bolts of the network service. Using this site, a packet can be traced as it either works its way up or works its way down the network stack.
